HEAL

for Healthcare Providers

Helping nurses, physicians’ assistants, doctors, and therapists balance their bodies and minds, life and work, so they can love their work and life again.

In the years since the pandemic, more and more health care providers have been seeking refuge in my programs.

One year, 80% of trainees in my Yoga Teacher Training were medical providers and typically 30% of students in any given class are health care providers.

They all were there for the same reason. They needed to find a path out of burnout and towards a calm and steady life where there was enough energy and joy in their lives to love their work and their family while nourishing themselves.

MEET YOUR guide

Sara

Sara brings a unique combination of expertise to the Heal programs. With over a decade of experience working directly with healthcare providers through her yoga studio (where medical professionals make up 30% of her clientele), she intimately understands the unique challenges facing women in healthcare.

As a Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist with specific training in nervous system regulation, Sara bridges evidence-based practices with practical implementation. Her background includes certification as an Ayurvedic counselor, extensive training in therapeutic yoga modalities, and Cornell University certification in plant-based nutrition.

Before founding her yoga studio, Sara spent 8 years developing evidence-based healthcare interventions, securing over $158 million in federal and state funding while working as a liaison between program directors, funding agencies, and researchers at Brown and Dartmouth Universities.

This combination of therapeutic expertise, program development experience, and direct work with healthcare providers gives Sara a unique ability to translate complex nervous system science into practical, effective tools for busy medical professionals.

WHAT SETS US APART

  • 01 / EXPERIENCE

I have been designing and implementing research-backed programs for nearly twenty years. I’ve taught thousands of hours of yoga, meditation, and breath work, owned a yoga studio for 10 years, and have done more than 1000 hours of training, including 500+ hours with Yoga Medicine, which gives me the distinction of being a Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist. I’m also a trained Ayurvedic Counselor and a certified Perimenopause and Menopause Coach.

  • 02/ SPECIFIC

All content and approaches in HEAL programs is tailored to the lives of Behavioral Health and Medical Providers. Implementation is thoughtfully structured around the challenges of your work environment and considers your specific needs and challenges.

  • 03/PROOF

Everything I teach is evidence-backed. It’s how I’ve always worked. I will provide you with researched tools to regulate your nervous system and then we will tailor the approaches to your needs as a provider within a clinical setting.

a little more about me

  • My husband and I love too really get into the woods ( or mountains). We spent a month in Alaska and a month in New Zealand camping. We’ve also done multiple day to week long hikes in The Redwoods, Yosemite, Kings Canyon, the Sequoias, Algonquin, and the Appalachian Trail (On New Years Eve 1999).

I also really believe in retreat. My favorite retreat center is Menla in the Catskills, NY. I try to go every year.

  • I have a Master’s Degree in Comparative Literature and worked in academics for a number of years before I became a professional writer. I had a knack for creating health care programs for underserved populations. Altogether the programs I created through NIH, SAMHSA, VA, and DOJ funding brought more than $150 million dollars in funding to the organizations I worked for.

  • I love the sauna. It really rejuvenates me and helps me with my arthritis. But I was astounded by a recent trip to the healing waters in Ojo Caliente, New Mexico. So now it’s a mineral rich bath, every night.
